As per the regulations in the Andamans, divers over 50 must get a medical clearance for scuba diving.

It takes 3-4 days to complete, and includes 5 confined water sessions and 4 open water dives to a maximum of 18 metres / 60 feet depth. One must be able to swim and float comfortably in the sea to sign up for this course. No prior experience of scuba is required to participate in these programs.
